Step 3

timer

Childhood is fleeting, even when a child has all the time they’re meant to have. So, when a child’s life may be shorter than it should be, it’s especially important to make every moment matter.

As Victoria’s only children’s hospice, we provide respite and end-of-life care for children and young people with life-limiting illnesses, supporting their families to make special moments together, while they can.

We can only continue to do that, with your help.

Why you should donate monthly

Monthly giving is the most effective way to donate – we count on your monthly donations to be able to plan ahead and support seriously ill children for years to come.

When you pledge to donate monthly, you are helping:

Provide counselling and emotional support for the whole family. With tailored care, families can create the space to make precious moments together.

Siblings, children and parents connect with other families who understand how complex it is to care for a child with a life-limiting condition.

Families to enjoy special time together and create long-lasting memories at our much-needed holiday accommodation.

Provide the highest level of 24-hour respite care for children and young people in Victoria’s only children’s hospice.

Ensure there is a special place in our hospice to provide a supportive environment for end-of-life care, enabling the family to create lasting memories together.

Keep processing fees to a minimum, keeping administration costs down.

Thanks to Very Special Kids, each year we go to the farm. Eve loves the animals and running in the big open field – as far as her oxygen cord will allow. We simply wouldn’t be able to go on a holiday otherwise

Georgie, mum of three-year-old Eve who has interstitial lung disease, pulmonary hypertension

…. these are the moments that matter.

  • A welcome pack. The welcome pack will contain all the necessary information about your monthly gift.
  • Your nominated account or credit card will be debited each month on the 1st or 18th (whichever is closest to your sign up date).
  • You will receive regular email updates, sharing stories from children and families your gift is helping to support; programs you have: supported; events and activities Very Special Kids has taken part in; and general updates about our services.
  • At the end of each financial year, we will send a tax receipt with all your donations (donations over $2 are tax deductible) for your income tax claim.

Will I get a receipt?

What will my donation be used for?

Your donation will be used to fund our holistic paediatric palliative care services, including counselling and emotional support, sibling support programs, bereavement support, networking and peer activities and respite care at our hospice.

These are just some of the ways that your generosity helps very special kids and their families.
