Fantastic fundraisers
November 20, 2014
Holding your own fundraising event can be a fun and rewarding way for community groups, clubs and individuals to make a difference to children with life-threatening conditions and their families. The 9th Annual Toby McCredie Golf Day recently raised $16,000 for Very Special Kids. The golf day is in the memory of Toby, who sadly passed away in 2006. Very Special Kids has supported his parents Penny and Tim and brothers Jake and Lachlan over the past nine years. The annual golf day has now raised more than $60,000 for families like the McCredies.
If you are into your golf, there are some upcoming opportunities to enjoy a round and raise money for Very Special Kids.

Many schools have recently found ways to support Very Special Kids, with some wonderful fundraising efforts. A special mention to Grade 1 student Ethan Scully, who performed a magic show and raised over $1,000 with the help of his classmates at Pleasant Street Primary School in Ballarat.
Excellent school fundraisers have also been organised by Brighton Grammar, Caulfield Grammar, the Emerson School, Penleigh and Essendon Grammar, Glenallen School, Malvern Primary, Mater Christi College, Methodist Ladies College, Northcote High, Rowville Secondary, St Roberts Primary, Wembley Primary and Wesley College.
Other notable community fundraisers include Church at Collective Trivia Night ($7,117); City2Surf and Run Melbourne fundraisers ($6,249); RMIT Student Conferences ($3,000); and 10 Squared Evening ($2,250).
