Talking to the animals

Children staying at Very Special Kids Hospice enjoyed a range of activities, fun and exploration as part of the January School Holiday Program.

With a special Talk to the Animals theme, each day focused on an engaging and interactive activity to get to know different animals of all shapes and sizes. Lizards, dogs, ponies and rosellas were just some of the many animals that visited the hospice and children had the opportunity to get up close and meet these new friendly, fury and feathery friends.

The Very Special Kids kitchen was transformed into an Animal Cracker Café where children helped whip up some delicious animal-themed treats. Children also engaged in art and music therapy activities and created a large creative piece based on some fun animal movements and sounds.

Operated four times each year by Very Special Kids Hospice, the School Holiday Program ensures that children with life-threatening conditions have access to activities and outings in a safe and controlled environment.
