We are excited to announce that on Tuesday 15 September, A Very Special Day, our exciting and impactful annual matched giving day, is back.
It’s the one day of the year that you can double your gift, double your impact and double the care for children with life-limiting conditions and their families. But remember, it’s for 24 hours only!
$50 doubles to $100
$200 doubles to $400
And $500 blasts off to $1,000.
Your doubled gift will help ensure Very Special Kids can continue providing care and support to a growing number of families who rely on our services. Families of children like Alba, Ali and Bibi.
Today, more families are turning to Very Special Kids for support than ever before. As demand for our services continues to grow, A Very Special Day helps us continue providing the care, respite and support families rely on when they need it most.
Meet Alba
In December 2021, Alba was born with an incredibly rare genetic disorder called Mosaic Trisomy 12. At the time, she was one of only 20 people in the world diagnosed with it.
When Alba first stayed at Very Special Kids House at two years old, everything changed. The family finally felt supported and far less isolated. And Alba loves her stays at Very Special Kids House, where she enjoys music, dancing in her wheelchair and story time with hospice staff.
“Very Special Kids gives Alba so much joy. We know she’s being cared for by people who truly know and love her.” says her mum, Jae.
Meet Ali
Ali’s smile brightens even the hardest days. At birth, he spent his first three weeks of life in intensive care. Ali has a complex medical condition and needs help with every part of daily life, including tube feeding and round-the-clock care.
Very Special Kids provides respite care so his parents can rest and recharge. Ali loves the sensory room at Very Special Kids House, and his giggles brighten everyone’s day.
Meet Bibi
At eight years old, Bibi is full of personality, confidence and determination. Living with a rare, progressive muscle-wasting condition, she loves adventures and singing into the music therapist’s microphone.
Very Special Kids provides Bibi with hospice care and therapies that help her thrive, while giving her family the opportunity to rest and recharge.
Your support this year can help ensure Very Special Kids House is always available to children like Alba, Ali and Bibi, 24 hours of the day, with free of charge respite care they can’t get anywhere else.
