Heartfelt’s camera project

February 4, 2025

At Very Special Kids, memory making is an integral part of our work and can help families preserve precious moments with their children – through life, death and bereavement. A photograph, in particular, often becomes a tangible keepsake.

To help us better capture these special moments, the Old Carey Grammarians Association kindly donated Very Special Kids House a high-quality, compact camera and printer from Heartfelt’s Camera Project.

This camera will enable our staff to take beautiful, print-ready photos for families to keepwhether it’s a swim in the hydrotherapy pool, a cuddle with a parent, or intimate moments during a child’s final days.

As a volunteer-led organisation Heartfelt has given the gift of professional photographic memories to many families who have experienced stillbirth or have children with serious or life-limiting conditions.

While a Heartfelt session can be requested during a family’s stay at Very Special Kids House, sometimes timing or quick developments can happen.

During these times, the Heartfelt camera can help us ensure no special moment is missed. The camera is aptly paired with a compact printer so staff have the option to print photos on the spot, and they can access memories in digital form as well.

We are confident the camera will become a cherished tool for documenting moments that matter most.
